Introduction Session: May 18, 2018
Course Dates: May 19-24, 2018

Course Fee: $360 USD* (Meals extra)

This unique workshop explores the major aspects of yoga therapy, with a special focus on Ayurveda. Theory and practice sessions will help you reach a more profound understanding of your innate self-healing mechanisms.

The striving for health and the journey to Self-discovery are one and the same when hosted by the generous cradle of yoga and Ayurveda. This workshop guides your steps in the exploration of oneness and wellness by beautifully integrating science and the yogic tradition.

Millennia before modern medicine provided scientific evidence for the connection between the mind and the body, the sages of India developed Ayurveda, one of the world’s most sophisticated and powerful mind-body health systems. Ayurveda has been documented and practiced since 3000 B.C. and literally means “Knowledge of Life.” Initially developed as a health system to support the yogic path, Ayurveda’s wisdom was designed to help people stay vital and healthy while realizing their full potential. Being a remarkably individualized system of medicine, Ayurveda focuses on the patient instead of on the disease. The tradition is rooted in the idea that each of us is born with a completely personal blueprint for optimum health. From birth onward, this serves as a reference point—your constitution—that, in many ways, defines who you are. No two constitutions are exactly alike; therefore, no two human beings can have precisely the same expression of ideal health.

For exactly this reason, Ayurveda is one of the key components of yoga therapy. Yoga therapy is a contemporary and personalized approach to healing that combines both biomedical science and ancient yogic knowledge. When it comes to healing, there are different ways in which we can interfere or influence from the outside, but ultimately the body performs the process itself. Our body has an intricate ability to heal itself, however sometimes it needs customized support to help remove blockages and restore balance for the best possible healing to occur. Yoga therapy supports this process by aiming to empower the inner healing mechanisms the being while viewing every person as unique.

Yoga therapy is a complete medical science and a philosophy of conscious living. It offers a holistic approach to personal health and wellness.
